I got my first job the other day, Mumma said I was a window washer!

Mumma took me trick or treating (just down the block), but wouldn't let anyone give me any treats.... why not!? I think all that candy would be good.

One Year Check Up

Oh boy did I have a rough weekend.... On top of turning one, which we all know is pretty rough I got what's called Rotavirus from my daycare last week. It's a horrible virus that caused me to throw up (everything) and have diarrhea. That was really my first time being sick and it's no fun. :( Mumma and Dadda were so scared because I wasn't eating or drinking anything. I finally got back to my regular ole self on Tuesday (after 4 days of puking and pooping).

Remember earlier in my blog when I was telling you about how I like to eat apples? Well, apparently, they DON'T keep the doctor away because I had to go for my one year checkup. ....and we all know what that means....yehp, more shots! I got 5 shots this time and have to go back for my flu shot booster in another three weeks. Geez, when will this end!? Those mean ole nurses....

The good news is that my head is still growing, I am in the 50% percentile for my head circumference.... the bad news is that the rest of me isn't growing very fast. I was 28" long (the 10% percentile) and didn't gain even one ounce since my 9 month check up. I weigh 18.4 pounds, which is exactly what I weighed back in July, and that puts me in less than the 3rd percentile for a 12 month old. The doctor isn't worried about my lack of weight gain since my head is growing (he said that just means I'm gonna be a smart skinny kid). Well, if he's not so worried then why did those mean ole nurses have to poke me AGAIN to take some of my blood?! !@#$^! Mumma cried just like I did when I got poked in my arm, it was sad. All of my blood tests came back okay, so I guess I just need to start eating more!

Oh, and I also had another ear infection. Great.... that means more of that nasty orange medicine. Mumma and Dadda say it's easier to give a cat a pill than to give me this medicine. What does that mean? Is it hard to give a kitty a pill or something?

But overall, mentally I'm right up there with other one year olds. I'm still not walking (alone) yet but maybe I will try within the next couple of weeks, we'll see how I feel....

Cousin Kate

Remember a while ago when I told you about my cousin Kate? Well, she's 6 months old now! She can just about sit up by herself and she LOVES to bounce around in her Jumperoo. She's a crazy woman in that thing! Here's Kate with her Mumma and Dadda and below is Kate and Nana.

My BIG Red Wagon

Grammy and Grampy got me a wagon for my birthday. It's the old school Radio Flyer, made with metal. No plastic for me! I LOVE to take rides with Humphrey.

My Sweet New Ride

My best buddy Mason got me some sweet new wheels for my birthday. I can either sit down and cruise the house or stand up and walk. So far, I can only go backwards, but I'll figure this thing out soon and will be zippin' all around the house.

So Mumma set her apple down on the table and I thought I would give it a try. Boy are these crunchy! I just stood by the table and crunched and munched away. With all my new teeth that are coming in eating apples is a breeze. I'm getting 3 (maybe 4) new teeth right now. All molars. It's no fun....

Touchdown

Okay, so Mumma & Dadda put me on the spot all the time and ask me to show you "touchdown". I've been doing this for a while now, but never feel like showing other people. So watch this and tell Mumma & Dadda to quit putting me on the spot! :) Geez....

Being 1 ROCKS!

Happy Birthday to me!!! I turned one on October 16. Mumma & Dadda had a really big party for me, with cake and all! Oh....and LOTS of balloons (my new favorite thing in case you didn't know). There were so many people at my birthday party, it was nice to see everyone, but it was a little scary for me. All those people watching me. I handled it pretty well though.

I got so many new toys and BOOKS! I am a pretty lucky little boy to have such nice friends and family. I told Dadda to get to work on the basement so I can have lots of room to play with all of my new toys. Here are a couple pictures of my birthday cake and some of my new toys. My Nana and Grandpa James got me a "Harley" just like Daddas! Mumma says I can't get my own real motorcycle until I'm 24.

"Glee" Club

....well, that's what my Dad calls it, but it's really called Kindermusik and it's Mumma and my music class. We go every Wednesday and sing, dance, and play with "instruments". This is my teacher, Ms. Debbie and of course my best buddy Mason. These shakers eggs are my favorite!!! There are five other kids in my class; Allison, she's the old one at 15 months, Mason, Gavin, and Tre (his real name is Robert but we call him Tre). We have a lot of fun together in class and just as much fun playing together after class!

The Great Pumpkin

We went to the pumpkin patch with Mason and his Mumma and Daddy. Some of those pumpkins were way bigger than I am!! (Well, actually, alot of the pumpkins were bigger than me!)

Then after we picked out our pumpkins we went to the apple orchard and got some fresh cider donuts and apple cider.... YUMMY!!! We had a fun day!

Playin Around

Gosh, new things happen with me just about everyday now. I'm really starting to check out my house and "get into things" as Mumma says. I'm really listening to everyone talk and trying to remember all of those words, but boy o' boy, are there a lot of them to keep track of! Mumma thinks I have a pretty large vo-cab-u-lar-y. Now that's a big word!

Oh - I forgot to tell you.... baby food.... is for the birds! Yeah, I gave up on that stuff a couple of weeks ago. Mumma started giving me food from her plate and I just love it! It tastes so much better than that mushy baby food! ...have you ever tasted the green beans??.... yeah, I didn't think so! I think my favorite so far is macaroni and cheese - Mumma says that's her favorite too! And I'm getting three more teeth to help mush up all this big boy food. Yep, one canine and two molars. My friend Masons' Mumma told me and Mumma what those teeth are called. So let's see, once these are in that will make 11 teeth for me! Only 9 more to go!

I love to wave "hi" and "bye bye", but sometimes am a little slow on the draw. Give me time and I'll catch on. I also like to get my groove on and dance! Look out Fred Astaire!

Oh - and I decided to start crawling too. Well, I still use my commando crawl if I'm on a mission for something (usually my kitty cats) cuz I'm so much faster. I haven't started walking yet, yeah, I think I'll probably do that in another couple weeks or so.

My NEW Lazy Boy

So check out my new Lazy Boy. It's not the most comfortable chair around, but it has so many kewl things..... Like a lamp that lights up and a book - and we all know how much I LOVE books - and a clock. And when you sit down in it - it plays music.... and I dance, dance, dance.

It's Fair Time

Okay, so have you ever had these things called "smoothies"??? Oh man are they good!!! My (Great) Aunt Sue let me have a taste of hers and that one taste just made me want more and more! The only way they would give me more is if I started crying when they took it away - so guess what I did!? :) Let's see, I got to eat some french fries, baked chicken, applesauce, and yeah, and ice cream too!!!



I got to see lots of animals at the fair too. Like pigs, cows, horses, ducks, and goats. I also got to visit a baby pettting zoo where there was a kangaroo, sloth, cougar, and lemurs. I think my favorite was the goats - they look my doggy Higgins! All I wanted to do was pet them.

I got to go on my first carousel ride too! Yeah, I'm not so crazy about this thing, all it does is go up and down and round and round.... big deal. I got pretty bored with it by the time it was over.

Oh - I also got to go "duck" hunting. It was way more fun for me to just splash around in the water!

Labor Day Weekend

I went to the lake again!!! Yippie! Boy do I have fun there!! I got to see a lot of my family and got to try a lot of new food (thanks Grammy) like potato chips, orange jello, and watermelon. I think the potato chips were my favorite. My cousin Nicholas read me some books, and we all know how much I LOVE books! It was too cold to go swimming, well that's what my Mumma says anyway, I didn't think so, but she won and I couldn't go.... bummer. I did get to go for a nice tooner (that's what everyone calls a pontoon ride) and it put me right to sleep. I sure do hate wearing that stupid life jacket, but Mumma always says, safety first! I got spoiled rotten by my Grammy and Great Grandmas. That doesn't bother me one bit!!!

What's New with Me!

Oh boy, let's see what's new with me.... Well, you know that I am mobile now, but now I can get up onto all fours. I haven't actually tried to go anywhere when I'm on all fours, but one day soon I will. It's still much eaiser to do my commando crawl! I can also pull myself up into a standing position. I am still trying to understand Mumma and Daddy when they talk to me but I just can't say the words, but boy do I try. I recognize a lot of words like, doggy, kitty (that one is my favorite), hammer, clock, light, and fan. Oh, and I forgot to tell you that I'm really trying to wave to everyone (and thing!) too.
